In light of the continuing COVID concerns, this year’s Dumpster Day event has been cancelled. To help neighbors find ways to dispose of their items, here are some helpful suggestions.
- KCMO offers free Bulky Item Pickup for items including refrigerators, large metal appliances, furniture, and more. For a full list and to schedule a pickup, click here.
- To recycle electronics, computers and TVs, visit the Jackson County website for a list of electronic recyclers.
- RecycleSpot takes household hazardous waste such as paint, pesticides, chemicals, oil, batteries, and more. The closest facility is located at 4707 Deramus. You don’t need an appointment, but must have ID with proof of residency.
- For building materials, including lumber, doors, hardware, etc., that may still be of use, try Habitat for Humanity Re-Store at 4701 Deramus. Visit their website for more information on how to donate.
