Get involved by serving on a committee
We know that there are many of our neighbors that are interested in getting more involved but are looking for easier or more specific way to do so, aside from the big commitment of running for the board.
Our new committee structure is designed to provide the opportunity to give smaller amounts of your time and expertise in the areas that interest you most. Each committee is chaired by a board member who will coordinate your efforts with the board.
Here are the committees:
- Events organizes and runs the standing annual events (garage sale, annual meeting, freedom/July 4th parade, ice cream social) and any special events
- Communications works with AHHA’s outside service provider to manage the communications of the Association, including the website, email, social media and Clarion newsletters
- Safety works on initiatives aimed at improving safety and security for residents and property of AH
- Landscaping works with our management company, FSR, to maintain and improve AH’s property, including parks, islands, entrance monuments, and manage relationships with related partners (KCMO Parks Dept., KCATA)
- Preservation works to protect the character and home values of AH through tasks such as enforcement of zoning and AH’s restrictive covenants and overseeing FSR’s management of day-to-day zoning and covenant issues as they arise
- Capital Improvement meets as needed to pursue capital improvements for the neighborhood, such as the fountains, and seeks funding for those improvements, such as through grants from PIAC and foundations
- Governance explores updates to the governance of AHHA, such as updates to the bylaws, and seeks approval of the membership where necessary
