Emerald Ash Borer
The EAB is a highly invasive pest which has killed millions of trees in North America. Forestry experts describe it as rivaling Dutch elm disease in impact. We have many ash trees in Armour Hills, among both our street trees and in our private yards. Eventually ALL our ash trees will be killed by this pest.
The identification information in this photo shows the bark, leaf and growth habit of the typical ash tree. [If you have a young child, this might be a fun adventure for you: investigate and examine your trees to see if you can identify an ash tree.]
